· This is the interior of Wings showing bulkheads and hatches. The center board cases are not installed. The carlings are in place for the combing and all the bulkheads have been filleted in place.
· I decided that the original combing was too wide and cut it down to this width.
· I have placed the batten that goes under the combing for extra support.
· This photo shows the original width and the cut down width.
· I have used a temporary outwale to set the inwales with epoxy. The 5/8 x 3/4 basswood was too stout to lay fair without the temporary outwale.
· The inwale is epoxied and it is a nice fair curve.
· Stainless steel 6 x 3/4 screws are set and will be covered by the outwale.
· The shape of the hull with some tumble home.
· Here I have the main and mizzen sail mock ups. I moved the main more forward and increased the length of the boom yet the back half of the cockpit is still clear of the boom. Nothing is worse than having to duck on each tack.
· I give the cockpit a test snooze. A bivi bag and tarp will make the cockpit very liveable yet take up very little space in stotage. The main and mizzen will fit under the combing and the curve of the knees will hold them in place with the help of bungees or straps. Snug…very nice and snug.
